STC joins the blogosphere

I am delighted to see that the Society for Technical Communication (STC) has joined the blogosphere, with what appears to be a WordPress powered site at http://notebook.stc.org. As a recent convert to WordPress myself, I am delighted to see that STC feels this is the right blogging tool to use. (If I was an insecure sort of person, I might feel that STC’s choice validated my decision.)
Some people have recommended linking the new blog to the main STC web site. I would suggest going further – making the new blog the main STC site. There could be additional static pages for general information and, after a suitable log-in step, for member information as well. That’s exactly what I have recently done here. I’ve created a WordPress powered site and incorporated my blog into it. The Blockhead Blog has gone into a graceful retirement, with all my old postings available here. The new site is easier for me to maintain, and I hope it will also be easier for my clients and for readers of my blog.
